Auto glass replacement?

My car was hit and I need to get my windshield and side mirror replaced. Any recommendations for good auto glass companies? My insurance company gave me a standard estimated amount for the repair, so I'd prefer something that's also reasonably priced. I got similar price quotes from Giant and JN Phillips, but I don't know about the quality of either.

I looked at the cars tag and didn't see anything glass-related over the last two years. Thanks! Happy Wednesday.

Giant is good too. I had my windshield replaced last year, and they showed up at my work. All I had to do was point out my car and they replaced it right away and replaced all of the stickers fine, and the guy was very professional about it.

The Village Glassmith, in Wellesley, and ask for OEM glass for the windshield - it makes a bit of a difference i think.

These guys come highly recommended, and I've used them. Best of the Best.

I worked in the industry for 4+ years. I can't recommend Real Auto Glass enough - they're mobil, based in Everett. Frank, the owner, has been doing auto glass for years and he's incredibly thorough. I wouldn't trust my windshield to too many people, but he's one of them.

And yeah, like one of the previous posters mentioned, ask for OEM glass - what type of vehicle do you have?

I've never used them, but I've heard that AAA has a mobile auto glass repair unit.

Mario's Classic Mirror Company on Mystic Ave in Medford has been good to me in the past, though I've only ever used them for side mirrors. I don't know if they have a website, but their phone number is (781) 391-2625. Good luck!

No Giant

I would recommend against Giant. I work for an insurance company and we used them once, the only whistling windshield repair on our books.

I went to JN Phillips (the one on Mass Ave by MIT) when my car window was broken into. The glass itself is fine and my insurance paid for it, but there is a piece of trim they didn't reset properly and is misaligned, which I didn't notice until after I picked it up. I'd suggest, whomever you choose, is to carefully inspect the area around the repair afterward.

When my window was smashed and a snowstorm was predicted for that night, JN Phillips on Mass Ave was the only auto glass place that could have it fixed that day. They did, and everything seems to be fine.

Giant is great. They came out a replaced my windsheild twice over the past 8 years or so and both times have been easy.

Great To Know!
