Ball Square White Hen already closed

I thought they were supposed to stick around until March, but the store was already closed when I walked by it a half hour ago. Signs in the windows tell customers to go to the 7-11 at Broadway and Cedar.

The coolers are still filled with soda, so this closing must have been quite recent. Did they have any kind of going-away event for their loyal customers?

(Earlier posts here and here.)

Oh nooooooes!

I talked to the guy a week or so ago and he was still looking for a way to stay afloat, independently if necessary; he didn't mention this.

If I'm gonna walk that far I might as well go to Shaw's; thank's 7-11, kindly piss off.

good riddance

that place had been awful ever since it changed owners and transitioned from stocking actual food to selling nothing but junk snacks. They were rude, stocked (literally) rotten vegetables, and charged me tax on non-prepared food items. I can't tell you how many times I went in to that place to buy something basic, only to have them not even have it.

Well, good luck finding that at 7-11.

I think I was the very last customer. I went in on Friday morning to buy some items, noticed there were a lot of people there packing up, asked about it and was told they were closing for good in about 5 minutes.

I'm sort of miffed that 7/11 is directing people to their store up the street. There is no way I'm going to bother walking all the way up there. I guess it is good news for the Y-Not....

The Y-Not isn't open late, though, so it's only good news for them if you happen to be looking for a nearby convenience store before 8 p.m. or so. That said, it's owned by a nice family and I'm certainly happy to give them my business.
