Can anyone share their experiences with Wainwright Bank, good/bad/indifferent/etc.?
I just opened a new checking account with them about six weeks ago and so far they have managed to screw it up in quite a few ways. It's really getting irritating. I love the idea of a green, socially responsible, involved-in-the-community bank, but I also really need it to be, you know, a competently functioning bank.
Thoughts?

Date: 2007-10-21 06:21 am (UTC)Three months later, my campus job mistakenly direct deposited my paycheck into the wrong account. Instead of refusing the funds transfer, Wainwright reopened the account. They didn't, however, send me any notice. To add insult to injury, when I finally figured out what had happened to the funds three months later, they asked if I wanted to keep the account open.
After a disastrous interlude with BofA, I've ended up with Citizens, and have been very happy. I have a very good working relationship with the manager of the branch near my office, and the one time they did make an error, she spent the better part of half a day helping me get it resolved.
