Looking for Housemates in Davis Sq. Group House
We're looking for two housemates in our nice 4br apartment: 5 minute walk from Davis, 10 minute from Porter.
The rent—INCLUDING UTILITIES—is $675 for the bigger room, or $625 for the smaller one, or $1300 for a couple (use one as a bedroom and one as an office, for instance). The price INCLUDES heat, hot-water, electricity, cable-modem, base phone, and cleaners every two weeks for common areas! There's additional space for crafts, or another office, more bookshelves in common areas, etc.
The Apartment:
-top two floors of a three-story / two family (4br, 2ba)
-great new back deck and garden over-looking bike path extension
-small front porch w/hammock
-new kitchen 5 years ago (w/dishwasher, of course)
-laundry in basement
-working fireplace
-all hardwood floors
-large windows
-gigantic water-heaters (never run out of hot water!)
The Housemates (so far):
-one fat, happy, mellow, female cat (no more free-roaming pets, sorry)
-one female artist, swimmer, art educator, freelancer
-one male programmer, cyclist, road-rallier
-both humans are bi, poly, varying degrees of nerdy, friendly, and, basically pleasant (if I do say so myself ;-) ). We bought this place a few years ago, so we could have a big group house. So far it's been really wonderful. We're in our early 30's and we've had housemates anywhere from 18yrs old to 40yrs old who have been very happy here.
We're not particularly partiers, but I like to occasionally cook for about a dozen people or so, or host a brunch, or bake cookies at midnight, or have a few folks over for gaming from time to time. My partner likes to grill, have cook outs, work on Science Fiction Conventions, and other assorted hobbies. Once or twice a year we do have a big party.
The New Housemates (you?):
-male or female or other, student or not or other
-live with other people because you want to, not just out of necessity
-want to socialize some with housemates, though also have your own life
-communicate any issues, likes, dislikes, etc. with any other housemates when/if they come up
-are not particularly TV watchers (movies are great, TV on for background noise is not)
-want to live in the house (not just in your room)
-will totally love it here!
