i'm passing on the good karma:

my brother lost his wallet tonight outside Namaskar. A big thank you to whomever gathered the wallet and contents off the sidewalk and gave it to the owner of Namaskar [thinking perhaps one of his patrons had dropped it]. Our number is unlisted so the owner had no luck when he called directory assistance; he decided to come over to our house to drop it off! (I thought he was someone coming over to get lemon balm. hehe.)

With the occasional bad things that happen in Davis, it's nice to know that our community helps to balance things out. it actually warms my heart to know that two honest people did something very nice tonight. (yes, i'm sappy).

Still more lemon balm! I'm leaving it on the porch for whomever wants to come grab some. if it's all gone, drop me a comment and i'll dig more.

How do I get some of said lemon balm? In your other thread, you said where you live. I'm a couple blocks away on Hall Ave. Do I find lemon balm on your porch? How does this work?

There are some little pots in a box labeled 'lemon balm' on my porch. Just come by and grab some when you want. You'll need to repot it or plant it in your garden, because I dug it straight from the ground and garden soil tends to clump in small quantities. For the same reason, I didn't dig more than was originally asked for, so let me know if it's all gone when you come by -- there's plenty more to dig.

what is lemon balm exactly? and what environment does it tend to grow the best in, my plants and flowers are all in pots on my front deck/steps in direct sunlight then shade later on in the day... thanks.

lemon balm is an herb, a mint specifically. looks like mint but smells lemony. it thrives in most conditions but likes sun. it can deal with somewhat arid or poor soil conditions as well. It will do fine on your porch, but like most plants that want a lot of sun it may not get real big and may have trouble flowering (which isn't such a bad thing with an herb unless you use a lot of it).
