anyone know when the snow emergency will be lifted?

We'd like to be able to use our car without fear of losing our parking space.  This is such a pain.

probably when it stops snowing and they're able to get all the streets clear.

The snow emergency isn't going to be lifted until after it stops snowing. It is snowing right now (9:15 p.m. Sunday).

April, I'd expect.

I called 311 earlier this evening to ask that same question. They said that a decision about the snow emergency would be made after midnight. So I expect there will probably be information in the morning.

You could be a total jerk and put some furniture in your spot. What a bummer. I've moved more chairs out of parking spaces over the last two days then I have all year.

Tomorrow morning, 8 a.m.

CITY OF SOMERVILLE
Message sent - 12/21/2008
Snow Emergency LIFTED as of 8 a.m. Monday, 12/22
Hello, this is Tom Champion calling from the City of Somerville with snow emergency information for Monday, December 22nd. The City has lifted its snow emergency regulations effective 8 a.m. this morning. Residents parked in municipal or school lots during the snow emergency have a two-hour window in which to move their vehicles once the emergency ends. Cars still parked in municipal or school lots at 10 a.m. may be subject to ticketing and towing. Residents, landlords and business owners are required by city regulations to shovel their sidewalks but may not shovel snow into the street. For additional information, please call the city’s 311 constituent service line or visit the city's website at www.somervillema.gov. Thank you.
