Mattress disposal?

Does anybody know what Somerville's regulations are on how to dispose of a mattress and box spring?  We're clearing out our guest bedroom for some extra space but we're not really sure what to do with the extra bed.  Anybody?

you can also try posting them on Somerville's FreeCycle if they're in decent condition. They're a pretty active list.

You dont want to deal with used mattresses. Just throw it out.

Yeah this is where I fall on this as well.

I mean it's fine, we've had it for years...but I put it in the same department as used underwear.

If you're the only ones who have used it so you know that it is bed bug free and such, someone will snap it up in a minute if you post it for free on Craigslist.
