Afternoon Tea?

Hey all, I'm thinking of doing an afternoon tea for my birthday next week.... I know upstairs on the square and the Taj Hotel do this... Any other places you can think of that do this? or have you been to either one at the Taj or Upstairs? Anyplace in Davis that does something like this?

Upstairs on the square is great!

I heartily recommend the Taj well over Upstairs on the Square.

Taj is the real deal whereas USotS is kind of a poser tea for girls who can easily be convinced less (food quality and quantity) + more (money) =best (not).

The Ritz

The Bristol Lounge at the Ritz Carlton Hotel is great. I'd recommend it over Upstairs.

The Park Plaza Hotel has a great High Tea.

The Bristol Lounge is not at The Ritz-Carlton - it's at The Four Seasons. The Ritz does have tea in The Gallery and while I'm sure both are at least pretty good, I wonder which one you meant.

Duh-oh! Sorry, I meant the Four Seasons.

And I'm surprised with the review on bostonteacup.com. I've been a number of times and loved the experience. I've always been on weekends & they went on a weekday, so the ambiance of the crowd may differ quite a bit.

If they were that harsh on the Four Seasons, I'm gonna love all the other places with better reviews!

I also discovered that the old Ritz is now the Taj. There's a new Ritz on the other side of the Common.
