My favorite place in the area for good sushi on the inexpensive side is Takeshima, on Harvard Street in Brookline just a little bit up from the Coolidge Corner Theater - it's near the Arcade mall, where Grand Opening is.

For really great sushi, there's Ginza x2, Fugakyu, Oishii, and a few others, but they're all more expensive.
