I need Candles

Does anyone know if I can buy locally made dinner candles around here? At least I think they're called dinner candles. I don't want anything scented, or oversized, just something to put in the candle sticks I just bought at a yard sale.

And if you don't know of anything locally made, how about sold somewhere other than a large chain (ie I saw an old post on here suggesting Shaws sells yahrzeit candles ).

Thank you for your consideration.

What you want are 'tapers'; I believe China Fair has a selection.

Greenward on Mass. Ave. has some.

But I'm pretty sure I've seen hand-dipped candles in other places, too.
Davis Squared?
Blue Cloud Gallery?
I can't remember.

Try the Mud Flat gallery in Porter (or whatever it's called--it's in the same building as the CVS).

How about having a candlemaking party and making some yourself? They are quite easy to make, and fun too! Order some bulk wax from online, or maybe ask at some local honey-harvesting place (I think there's one in JP) if you want to go totally locally made, and use some cotton string for wick (most string works just as well as expensive wick because string is treated with some mordant, from what I understand), and gather some large cans like pineapple juice sometimes comes in to hold the wax while you're dipping. Experiment with different sizes and such.

Whole Foods sells unscented taper candles in both eight and twelve inches, in a variety of colors.

I bet Cambridge Naturals has some - I know they have candles, so they probably have tapers.
