Free to a good home

I have a surfeit of Hostas. The previous owner of my home must have really loved them, because my back yard is full of them. They're lovely, healthy plants, but I'd like a little more variety.

They're great plants for shade, they thrive with neglect. They produce lovely masses of deep green, variegated leaves with impressive stalks of blue, orchid-like flowers in midsummer.

So, if you'd like some Hostas, please drop me a note here. I'm removing a few today, and I'll tuck them into a quiet corner of the yard for now; but in a week or so, they'll have to go either to a good home or the compost.

Oh, and if you're not sure what a hosta is, you can read about them here. The ones I have are not the giant, 4' tall ones, but more modest ones reaching maybe 2' at the peak of summer.

Update: All my hostas are spoken for now, through LJ and other online communities.

Oh, I pretty much live at Pemberton's already. Enjoy your gardening! :)
