Long Term Somerville?

Just curious as to how many of our community members here consider themselves residents of Somerville long term, or temporarily as in "when I have kids i'll move to the burbs" mentality.

Do you see yourself here as a long term, or potentially permanent resident?

Do you have kids here already? Are they in the Somerville Schools? If no kids would you raise kids here?

Do you own property or are you renting? If renting would you like to buy?

I agree with you--hence, the "wary" bit. I think Waltham center (and Arlington center, maybe Salem) are less generically "suburbia", which helps (as opposed to places like weston or milton). Also, in Waltham there are great, quick public transit options to the city, and I've biked to Waltham center from Cambridge without much issue. Also, the Moody St. area has much better restaurant options than Davis in my opinion.

I'd certainly way prefer Cambridge, but seeing how you can get a larger house, on a much larger plot of land, within a 7 minute walk of the Waltham MBTA station for half the price of something smaller in Cambridge, we are considering a bit of a compromise :)

We're still heavily leaning toward Camberville. It's just an option.
