can we contribute scraps to your compost?

Anyone living close to the intersection of Orchard & Beech Streets interested in accepting compost contributions from our kitchen?

We aren't in a position to have our own compost bin, but we'd be glad to have our organic waste go to a neighbor's, as long as it's close enough for us to drop off conveniently.

We had this arrangement with a neighbor in our old place, and it worked out great-- more compost for them, less trash for us!

If you're interested, contact me at <vardit (dot) samuels (at) gmail (dot) com>.

(We're considering the Bootstrap Compost option, but we'd rather keep it free and super-local, if possible)

The Union Sq market folks are trying to get a vendor to collect compost. Meanwhile... any Whole Foods (at least, that has the little restaurant area) has compost bins with their recycling. I tried it with the Alewife store, they didn't seem to mind me dropping off the month's worth of veggie scraps I'd been storing in my freezer waiting for Union/Winter to sort it out.
