I recall that the city announced a week-long closure for similar raised crosswalks on Holland Street (at the T station) and Willow Ave (at the Community Path). I don't remember if the projects actually took that long to build.

As a cyclist, I don't at all mind having to slow down on Cedar Street where the Community Path intersects. This is a busy place with lots of pedestrians (and somewhat fewer cyclists) crossing, and it's best for everyone if I'm not zooming through at 18 mph.
