Hey all,

I only found one entry related to this question. Now that my husband and I have a kiddo, we figure we should get a will/trust/guardianship-in-case-we-die papers drawn up. Any recommendations on a lawyer to use for this? We're not necessarily looking for dirt cheap, but we do want someone thorough. Doesn't have to be near the Davis Square area (which I guess makes this post unrelated, but oh well).

You might want to consider joining the Yahoo group 'SomervilleMoms'. I know people there will have some recomendations (as well as answers to the many other kid-related questions you'll come up with in the future)

Yes, I second this suggestion -- and if you do join that group, please look through its archives before you post to ask about lawyers, because indeed that topic has gone around quite a few times.

A Davis Square Lawyer

We had this done by Ed Smith who is right in Davis Square - making your post related again! His office is at 403 Highland Avenue, and he is (or was - I haven't seen it lately) the owner of the Ford Taurus that is covered with toys.

!!! Mystery solved! I've been wondering whose car that was! I've seen it on Highland Ave a few times.

There was a Boston Globe article about the car on 12/26/06 (I can't find it in their online archives). The story is that Smith's wife was frustrated with the car frequently breaking down. She thought that gluing all the stuff to it would force Ed to get rid of it - her plan failed!

This post is worthless without pictures. It could probably even be a post all of its own - fantastic sights of Davis Square!

My lawyer, whom I love with a wild unholy passion, is Caroline Mailhot of Correia-Champa and Mailhot. They're downtown, at 295 Devonshire St. (right off the Red Line!); their phone number is (617) 292-9909.

Caroline used to live on Elm Street, so how's that for a Davis Square tie-in?! She lives somewhere out in the burbs now. Also, she is a mom.

I'll plug a friend - Ronald Dellagrotte or his partner Frank Marciello.

They're on broadway in east somerville.

What is their speciality and are they willing to work out payment plans, please and thank you?

I'm having some issues with the ex. Call me and we'll chat about it if necessary. Use my home number though. I got rid of the burner.

Let's put it this way - they're family lawyers.

I'm a legal assistant for Butler & Monks in Central Square. Maureen Monks does this stuff as her main practice and her rates are extremely reasonable. 617-492-5110 is the office number.
