So there's a ton of yoga places around here but what's a good one within walking distance of Davis Sqr. preferably towards Teele Sqr. that has a regular yoga class around 7PM or latter (cult free preferred)?

What are good places to get running shoes and bikes around here that are open at night?

If you want an actual running store (you should if you are doing any serious running), I think the closest one is Marathon Sports on Mass Ave in Cambridge. They are staffed by runners, and they will watch you walk/run and recommend an appropriate shoe for your running style.

For bikes, I like Ace Wheelworks on Elm toward Porter Square.

O2 Yoga generally has a 7pm or 7:30pm yoga class. http://www.o2yoga.com/ (http://www.o2yoga.com/). "Up dogs, down dogs, no dogma." It's vinyasa style, vigorous and quick but not hot. It's on the corner of Highland and Cedar.

Baron Baptiste in Porter Square is popular too. I've only been once, and it was hotter and more aggressive than I like, but certainly not a cult. A bit preachy, maybe, but more in that physical trainer kind of way.

I'm a big fan of ATA Cycle. They are open until 7pm most nights in the winter and later in spring,summer, fall.

Lots of bike stores around here. Paramount Cycle is on Broadway just west of Powerderhouse Circle. Ace Wheel Works (my favorite) is at Elm St. and Willow Ave. Bicycle Exchange is on Mass. Ave between Porter and Davis squares.

I like o2. There's a place nearer Teale square called Om City that I've been to. It's totally fine, but I don't know the schedule.

I have a beef with Ace after they replaced my triple 105 derailleur with a double Sora, after I got done explaining how I didn't like being downgraded at the last shop I went to (ATA.) Also ATA doesn't like me because my bike is 8 years old, which I find disheartening. So as an alternative, you could go down the street to Broadway Bicycle School (http://broadwaybicycleschool.com/") near Inman Sq. in Cambridge... that's the next place I am going to try. Also the Bicycle Exchange (http://www.cambridgebicycleexchange.com/) in Porter Sq. almost certainly has a good entry level bike for you, and they should be able to give you some attention.

There's a city sports in the Porter Exchange building that has shoes for la jogging. Yeah, go Porter!

Marathon Sports isn't open very late, but I second the recommendation. City Sports, in Porter, is open much later if you already know exactly what running shoes you want (fairly good selection, nonexistent service).

I don't know the hours on the various bike shops, sorry. ATA Cycle is my favorite in the general area; Cycle Loft in Burlington and Harris Cyclery in Newton are the only bike shops I'll go out of my way for.

Rounding out the list of Somerville bike shops, there's also Park Sales, on Somerville Avenue near Park Street. It's by far the oldest of all the shops so far listed, going back to 1952.

I have found Park Sales to be expensive, antagonistic, and unfriendly in the few times I've been there. ATA tends to be into the la-dee-da sort of cyclist. CycleLoft (in Burlington) or Landrys (near BU, also in the suburbs) are the friendliest shops around, but I've also had good experiences with Ace, and they're convenient. Paramount is very friendly although I don't have experience.

Yoga on the Square is also fantastic, and right above the Burren. They have a different schedule every day, though, so I don't think you can get a class after 7:00 PM every day.

Anyway, I always took my bicycle to Paramount at the Powderhouse rotary. They let me wander in there whenever and pump up my tires.

i like baptiste. i just started going there. people do weird sigh things that sometimes sound like sex noises, but otherwise, it's good.

i also went to bikram yoga in harvard square for a while. it was very crazy scary cultish. [shudder]

We are a 6 minute walk from Davis and there is free parking.
