In need of a dressmaker.

Hi --

Can anyone recommend someone in the Cambridge/Somerville area to make a dress on short notice? I have the pattern, the fabric, and the miscellaneous bits (thread and such), but am short on time and my sewing machine is being cranky. I need the dress by June 11 for a June 14 event. It's a pretty straightforward pattern (Simplicity 2917, if you want to look it up), but I want it to look good -- it's for a wedding. Will pay, of course.

Any recommendations would be most welcome.

You might want to contact Laura from Laura's Sewing School (http://www.laurassewingschool.com/) which is on Broadway in East Arlington. I don't know if she will do your dress for you, but you may be able to arrange with her some time to use her sewing machine equipment in her school/shop.
