Good Time Meetup

In what is probably the biggest example of FAIL in recent memory, I can't organize the Good Time Emporium meetup about which I recently posted because the 27th is the most popular date, and it's just not possible for me to attend on that day. SO. [livejournal.com profile] thetathx1138 has graciously agreed to pickup where my FAIL left off, and I trust that he will not let you down. He and I visited the Emporium last Thursday and had a great time, spending entirely too much money on skeeball and other games that make you lust for tickets like a grizzled old chain-smoking lady at a casino lusts for money. Oh, and I found a leftover, untouched basket of buffalo wings and totally ate it. And the herpes it contained, probably. Seriously, WHY is this place closing again?

Here are the deets:

What: Good Time Emporium meetup for [livejournal.com profile] b0st0n, [livejournal.com profile] davis_square, [livejournal.com profile] somervillemass.
When: Friday, June 27th
Why: Because it's closing and cheap beer, meth addicts, and Buck Hunter is always a good combination.

For those who can't make it on Friday: I am planning to be there on Saturday and Sunday (gotta get it while I can), so if anyone wants to waste some money with me, let me know.

x-posted like whoa

Do you know yet what time this will start?

yeah- what he said.

also- are any transportation ideas being set up? I know it's semi-accessible by Orange Line and from there bus, but...dude, that area's sketchy and I'm really not keen on walking. I will if I have to, but....>

Sun sets late at this time of year, and there's no reason to worry about walking there during daylight.

I'm not sure there's actually a way to get right to the door by public transit, actually.

I lived in the area for quite a while and honestly, after 5pm it's absolutely devoid of humanity. It's all auto body shops and the like.

Bus #90, from Davis or Sullivan or Wellington, runs right by it.

Not really, actually. It stops in front of the minimall and you have to hike through the parking lot, which is probably the least safe area on the wall (to the extent the area is unsafe at all, excepting risking being run over and dodging broken glass).

The T website shows a stop at "Sturtevant St and Foley St" which is right in front of Good Time. The next stop after that is the mall.

I must be thinking of the wrong bus, then.

Ron Newman wins on this.

There's also a pathway under I-93 behind the Stop & Shop, but it's not well-marked or well-lit.

Tho the 90 bus will not pick you up after 10 pm-ish. -- late night shenanigans will leave you stranded.

The 95 (from Sullivan) also stops in front of the Home Depot, which is close enough for me, though waiting to get the bus *home* there after the meetup might be a little less pleasant. (It also only stops there outbound, so you have to want to go to Medford to get on it there.)

In the other two cross-posted threads, [livejournal.com profile] thetathx1138 arbitrarily declared a start time of 7 pm.
