DS random

1) What is the best phad thai in the area? Is it the new place called "taipei tokyo" or would you recommend someplace further out?

2) In case you don't know (and how could you not) the next DS meet-up is on the 11th at Joe Sent Me at 7pm.

3) One of your lovely moderators has a fundraising page here. She is raising money for the Somerville Homeless Coalition. She does a lot of work here in the DS community and this is a very good local cause, so please consider donating. She would never think of pimping her page here, but of course I would. She is very cool and does a lot of work for this community, so please help out this worthy cause.

EDIT: In regards to #3, I'll match any donation given from the DS community up till the end of this week (the 14th) for a total of $200. When you donate to the the page, specify that you are part of the DS community. On the 14th, I'll donate up to an additional $200 for the donations given. Its an excellent chance to help out the SHC and a very cool moderator here.

I really like the phad thai at Sweet Chili (in Arlington Center, though there is also one in Cambridge). Montienne in the theatre district is also good. Unfortunately, the best place (IMHO) for phad thai closed... it was Rod Thai in Chinatown.

I really like Lemon Thai on Highland, near the Somerville Hospital. Fantastic food.

I moved out of Davis about a year ago, but I'd never found any decent Thai in that area. If you're willing to go a little further afield, Pepper Sky in Central Square is amazingly good. (I think they deliver, too, but I don't know how far their delivery radius goes or if there's a charge for it--they're about 2 blocks away from where I live now, so we just go pick it up.)

My favorite Camberville Pad Thai is at Tamarind House (http://www.tamarind.thaifooddirect.com/) between Harvard and Porter (closer to Porter). Sugar and Spice (http://www.sugarspices.com/) on the other side of Porter is blander, but it's been growing on me*. Note: that second website has default music music

I like the Pad Thai at Thai Kitchen on Massachusetts Avenue, a 5 minute walk from Davis...

Spice and Rice is by far the best and the most fun.

It's not Pad Thai, but the Singapore Rice Noodle at Taipei Tokyo is AWESOME. I highly recommend it.

"Phad thai"? Is that a new kind of burrito?

Great Thai Chef in Union Square has some of the best Thai food, evarh! I have brought many friends there and we have never been disappointed in any dish ordered.

In the relatively immediate area, Sugar & Spice, in Porter Square (on mass ave near the dunkies), has excellent thai food, including excellent pad thai.

If you're willing to go a little further out, my favorite thai food is at The Similans, at Lechmere. Amazing food, but definitely not fast food prices.
