Entourage?

I was walking down Central Street near Highland yesterday at about 6:15-6:30PM when I saw a strange sight: a caravan featuring a Somerville motorcycle cop, a Somerville cop car, a stretch limo, a stretch Hummer, another stretch limo and another Somerville cop car. The cops had the lights and sirens going, too. Any celebrities in the area yesterday? Any clue who that might have been?

Wow, weird. I know DeNiro is in town filming, but most celebrities don't have all that fanfare. He was in my office building (there's a film office on another floor)but usually they just get a black SUV or something to pick most celebrities up in.

It almost sounds like it was a veteran/retired cop funeral, but without the hearse and the extra cars.

I don't know if this has anything to do with anything, but isn't that right near where the boxing club in Somerville is? That's my only inspiration, anyway...

I can't imagine any reason Mike Capuano would travel in such a convoy. Perhaps to his own funeral, but that's about it. He drives around in the same car he owned when he was elected.
