Non-permit parking on Broadway?

The closest non-permit parking to my place (near Powder House Circle) is on Broadway, but I heard from someone that last night they were towing every car on the street. Is this something to do with the snow emergency, or just an overnight-parking thing? In short, can anyone confirm or deny that it's safe to park on Broadway during the day?

You can park on Broadway, but only on the odd side through Sunday night. This is due to the snow emergency.

Unless, of course, the spots are marked to be left open during snow emergencies. If that's the case, you can't park there.

As always, a call to 311 is the best way to get this info, if you don't need it until Monday morning :).

In Somerville, there's no parking allowed on major arteries during a snow emergency. You should be able to tell from their website (http://www.somervillema.gov/) whether the snow emergency is still in effect. You can tell whether a street is a "major artery" because it'll have a sign -- iirc, a squarish white sign with red lettering, mounted fairly high up on phone poles, saying "No Parking During Snow Emergencies."

In medford, broadway, is a snow emergency artery and thus, no parking during a snow emergency.

But I thought both sides of Broadway were in Somerville for its entire length?

Well yeah, but I meant that none of it was in Medford (though some buildings along it may be).

Yeah, it occurred to me later that it was broadway and not Boston Ave, which was what I was thinking about, and also has free/non restricted parking near ball square, but not during snow emergencies..
