My apologies if you're the one whose lawn chair I ran over (and over) and then parked on, but you shouldn't leave garbage in a public parking spot.

I have no idea who you know.
But the native Charlestown people I know, call themselves townies, and don't like it when that term is used to refer to anyone else (of course, they get even MORE clique-ish when they start talking about their specific neighborhoods, like the Parkies), but they don't mind it being used to refer to them.
Same for the Somerville natives I know - they're proud to be known as 'Villens.
I'm not one. They don't care that I'm not, they DO care if i were to try and present myself as one.

It is, usually, a generic term, and I seem to remember the Tufts kids using it to denigrate the Medford and Somerville residents who came to gawk at the Tufties being idiots and whining about being seen being idiots ... to which some locals responded that townies wouldn't have come over to see them.
