Fax you, Davis Square!

Looked briefly thru tags but couldn't find anything about fax machines in Davis.  I need to fax this afternoon.  But where?

*snerk* This reminds me of how the state's frickin health plan will let you enroll online in a matter of minutes, but requires a damn paper check every month for payment. No credit cards, no debit cards, no automatic withdrawals from a bank account, no, you have to write out a check and send it via post.

Seal that envelope with sealing wax! have it hand-delivered by a street urchin paid well for his discretion!

But if you ask your bank to make an automatic payment every month, and they can't do an electronic transfer for some reason, they'll mail a paper check for you at no charge. That's how I pay my rent every month, from a Wainwright account.

Yep, I know friends who pay their roommates for utility bills in the same way. I know Bank of America will send paper checks as automatic payment if you want them to.

Although asking the bank to mail a paper check back to someone else in the same house where you live seems .... somehow very silly.

I thought so, too, though it depends, I guess. You eliminate the need for a checkbook, meaning saving paper and not worrying about it getting lost. Also, if you're really forgetful, it helps.

But yeah, I agree with the silliness of it. It's like the people in my office who call the person 3 desks away...

Yeah, but that's not really my point. :)
