Passport Photos

My passport was issued more than 15 years ago so apparently I need a new one from scratch. What's a cheap and easy place to get passport photos taken around here? Can I just take the pics and the application to the post office?

Any CVS will do them for (I think) around $8. You just take the pictures and application, along with ID and a birth certificate to the post office.

Something related: I didn't know this when I went, and I don't know how things worked when you got your old passport, but they take your birth certificate and mail that with the application and photos. The passport and birth certificate won't be mailed back to you in the same envelope, so don't worry when you get one and not the other.

Any CVS with a photo lab, to clarify, although I think they all typically have one.

You can also just take a picture of yourself against a white wall using a digital camera, and go to the CVS photo machine to crop it to the appropriate dimensions (I'm pretty sure there's a passport photo setting on the machine), or look up what size they're supposed to be and crop it yourself. Then just print the photos. When I got my passport photos made by CVS, this is exactly what they did; you can save a few bucks by bringing in the picture yourself and only paying to print it out.

This.
They will also retake the photo for free if it gets rejected by the passport office for some reason (don't ask me why I know this...)

Yeah, I had mine done at CVS in Porter.
