Project MUM - Have you been?

Has anyone here been to a Project MUM event (aka shake yer groove thang under McGrath Highway)?

There is one this weekend (http://www.artsomerville.org/event/2009/mum.html) and I was considering going, but wanted to see if anyone had been before. It seems like it could be a little sketchy there after dark...What were your experiences??

It's not a sketchy/scary event at all. Getting there at night feels safe (decent lighting along streets at night and regular foot traffic).

Here is a video of what it looks like

I live there (not under the bridge, but just up the street a ways). It's not as sketchy as it looks. It's only a block from Union Square, and coming from that direction you won't pass through anything I'd describe as a "bad neighborhood."

Huh. Last time I shook my groove thang under McGrath Highway, I got arrested.

I went briefly last year - from what I remember there were more than a few cops

Dammit, I have to be nice...oh wait, you're a b0st0nite!

FEAR THE BRAZILIANS! FEEEEEEEEEAR!

Seriously, aside from the look of the place on a given day (and really, what do you want, it's a hideous underpass), it's not sketchy at all. I used to walk in that area all the time and honestly past about 7pm it's barely even occupied.

I have not gone to the Project Mum thing, but speaking from my experience last year going to one of the Dancing on the Charles shindigs, wear comfy shoes! Concrete is not very comfortable for long bouts of dancing.

Ew...a reeking, dripping, rusty, noisy atmosphere at best. But dangerous? Naw!

What other folks said. It's an ugly, ugly piece of highway infrastructure, but you're not passing through any unsafe areas to get there, and the event itself is well-lit, well-attended and has security types onsite. Have fun!

Not dangerous, but ugh, the air quality is pretty sketchy.
