Spare Change Guy Smoking on the T

Hello,

I don't know how many of you noticed, but I've seen the guy who sells Spare Change at the bottom of the Davis Sq. T- Stop escalator smoking cigarettes about 4 times now. I've said something once and of course that didn't change anything and I typically don't have time to back upstairs to inform the T-Station attendant (not that they would do anything), but is there a way to notify Spare Change somehow?  And if so, are they a tightly run organization that they would do anything about it?

Was it the actual Spare Change guy, or was it the much-maligned scammer douchebag?

This isn't the black guy that is sometimes near the escaltor on the Holland Street exit, right? This is the older guy that is actually on the platform?

I've seen the guy on the platform smoking before too.

The scammer is there on a daily basis, actually.

Except if it's the same guy. Is it?

It's not the scammer, it's the weathered old guy who stands directly at the bottom of the escalator with a stack of newspapers. I actually used to buy from him every time UNTIL I saw him smoking in the T station. I guess I'm just glad to see that someone else finds that "offensive".

What Srakkt said. Was this a tall, tanned, scruffy looking white guy with glasses and a glove? If so, fake spare change scammer, and he does it all the time, along with actually outright harassing people. Next time you catch him smoking, just call MBTA police directly, maybe.

According to http://sparechangenews.net/content/contact-us , their phone number is : (617) 497-1595. I don't see an e-mail address there, which is odd.

and once again Ron is the only person to legitimately answer the question that was asked. :)
