Who sells pumpkin muffins?

My girlfriend and I want to figure out who has the best pumpkin muffins, but we're not sure who even has them. We checked Diesel last night, and they didn't have any (although it was late).

So who has them? We're hoping to find 10 different places in the area, no just limited to Davis, but centered on Davis. Non-chains are obviously preferred, but we're willing to try everything, even things like the bakeries at grocery stores.

I didn't see pumpkin muffins at magnificent muffin the past couple times I was there. I don't know if they do seasonal stuff.

I had one the other day from the Magnificent Muffin and Bagel (or Bagel and Muffin?) Shop here in West Medford. It's next door to the post office. It wasn't my favorite, though. I recommend the Triple Berry and Double Chocolate. *droool*

can't speak to muffins but I can tell you Henrietta's Table has the most divine pumpkin whoopie pies served with hot apple cider. I DIED.

Re: bakeries at grocery stores: this is East Somerville, not Davis, but I've been very pleased with the muffins at the Stop n Shop on McGrath Highway. I'm not sure they have pumpkin, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Hi Rise has pumpkin bread - don't know how closely you want to define "muffin". They aren't exactly at Davis, but they do bring their goods to the Davis farmers market.

Further afield:
Danish Pastry House (come to Harvard Sq farmers market on Tuesdays)
Sherman's (Union Sq.)
Mariposa Bakery (Central Sq.)

I don't know if any of these have pumpkin muffins, but they make muffins and it's fall, and you can call them to ask.

Pembury Farms on Mass Ave has a big bakery section. Diesel used to have wonderul pumpkin muffins. I hope they return! (for your sake, I don't live in the area anymore)
