illuminations tour maps?

does anyone know where you can get the maps for the illuminations tour? i went in to mcintyre and moore's today to buy one (all the papers are saying that's where to go), and the guy there was just finishing telling another woman that he doesn't have them. hmmm. i'd rather have the map than wander aimlessly all over town... :)

That's a really good question. If they weren't jerks, the arts council would just put maps on the website. Actually, they might not be jerks--I've never met any of them. It's just a bit... prohibitive. If you should find out, let us all know! I'll be searching too...

actually they are not jerks. they're a city arts council mostly staffed by volunteers. they don't put the map on the website of course because they want people to go on the tour.

actually, i just called them and they walked some maps over to mcintyre a while ago today. the guy on the phone also said that if he could get his volunteer to put the map up, he would, but that it's not a normal style of map - or that it's not real web friendly. one would still need to know somerville to get around.

but yeah, the maps are out there in the snowy world now.

city hall is a good place, so is asking someone who went if they kept theirs.

It's strange for the M&M guy not to know this--according to the Globe, M&M starts selling the maps on the Monday after the tour. So they should be on sale right now.
