I realize that this is just a bit outside Davis, but as I make the very short walk nearly daily, I thought that it wouldn't hurt to mention the place here.

One bedroom opening in beautiful apartment in heart of Porter Square. All residents friendly, responsible, fun and geeky! Rent scales based on bedroom size; this one would be ~$800/month. City elections, September 24 and November 5 - candidate list and open discussion thread

It's an odd-numbered year, so Somerville is having a municipal election this fall. Three wards (1,3,5) will have preliminary elections on September 24. The whole city will vote on November 5.

Mayor Joe Curtatone is unopposed for re-election. Lists of candidates for Alderman and School Committee are behind the lj-cut below. With two aldermen having resigned and three others not running for re-election, we could have a lot of turnover. Please use this thread for discussing the election or any of the candidates and issues.

Hello,

I live in a 3-family condo and our association met last week to discuss future projects.  I am looking for a few recommendations re: the following:

1) Someone to rebuild the rear entry to our basement (a stairwell with an attached shed style bulkhead over it).  It needs a new roof, door, stairs, etc.

2) Snow removal service for this winter.  Our service kinda sucked last year (e.g. didn't come as promised, showed up days late).  It would be nice to have someone who is
    reliable.
