Found: Black Cat Near Somerville Hospital

This very friendly, sweet cat was found late Monday night on Highland Ave near the hospital.  Please email lavalleyb at  yahoo.com if she belongs to you.

She has been roaming around since at least Saturday night-I saw her walking home from work right by the fire station. She was extra friendly and almost seemed like she would followed me all the way home; possibly her problem could be she wandered well past where she lives. Maybe try Somerville and Cambridge animal control also?

Did you check her shoulder area for a chip? (small rise grain implant under skin). You can probably also take her to any vet to see if they can find one and if she has one they can scan it, and get owner info.

she looks like a cat that lives on Conwell Street (I live right next to the hospital and ran into a kitty like her pretty frequently while walking home). However, that cat usually has a collar. Maybe try knocking on some doors on that street??

Someone mentioned losing a black cat from Wallace St. in Davis last Friday on a mailing list I'm on, and I've forwarded this post to them.

alas, it is not the Wallace St cat

A few of us Wallace Streeters saw this post and alerted our neighbor; he contacted the OP and confirmed it is not his cat. The missing Wallace St cat is an all-black male and has a clipped left ear. I'm also told he's very timid.

Wow, does that picture imply that the cat was willing to ride in your car, lying on the passenger seat like that? Now that is friendly! Good luck in finding the rightful owner, it seems very likely that such a cat does have a person. You definitely should report the cat to animal control in both Somerville and Cambridge and have him/her scanned for a chip.
