any news on Ikea/assembly square?

I was thinking about a trip to the Stoughton store and it got me wondering about the Assembly Square store & redevelopment there.  There's been a lot of construction activity, but I haven't seen any new news about it. 

Has anyone heard if the construction is going as planned?  Are there delays of problems because of the bad economy?

I live right near there, and I haven't yet seen anything indicating that an Ikea is imminent--just space where one will go. I don't know what the timetable is supposed to be.

The Ikea in Somerville was originally scheduled to open in the summer of 2004! I would just forget about it and go to Stoughton. The Stoughton store was announced years after the Somerveille store and has since been built and open for a few years now.

I know, I know... just wondering! They've actually broken ground, so one can hope it won't take another decade.

Actually, I moved here in spring of 2000, and Somerville was supposed to get an IKEA by fall 2000! I remember being pleased to be moving someplace so close to an IKEA...

Thanks for the info, I'd been wondering about this myself. I ride past the site on the Orange Line every day, and they put in water supply and sewer/storm drain infrastructure last fall, but it's just been a field of mud since then.

I was just there 4 days ago and the site it nicely graded, but no sign of any recent work. I thought it odd that at 10am, nary a construction vehicle or worker to be seen.
