so i'm in the market for solid-color decorative paper

i'm looking for big sheets of decorative paper - like 18" x 24" or so - specifically gunmetal-gray paper, ideally with a little sheen. i've been to the paper source in porter square and the one in coolidge corner but with no luck, and this weekend i plan to hit up the art supply store in central square across from what used to be pearl paint (artist supply? is that what it's called?) and bob slate in harvard square, neither of which i expect to be much help but i figure it can't hurt to look, but after that i'm stumped. does anyone have any ideas where else i can look? or if you've ever ordered that kind of thing online, who did you use?

and if i can't find paper in the appropriate color, what kind of pattern screams "horrifically bloody and violent story full of cage fighting, drugs, dysfunction, and mafia-style crime families" to you?

(i'm actually trying to match paper i already have which i need to cover two sets of books i'm making - one set for a friend of mine and one set for her cowriter - this is twelve books, or twenty-four covers. the books are only 4.25" x 5.5", but there are, you know, twelve of them. and i don't have enough paper for all those covers.)

there's a much closer Bob Slate on Mass. Ave. near Porter Square.

maybe Paper & More in Arlington?

the Central Square place is called Artist and Craftsman Supply, Between there and Harvard Square is Utrecht.

Play Time in Arlington might have what you need, and you could also check with Utrech in Harvard Square.

I know Bob Slate has large colored papers for scrapbooking.

it used to be called "the art store" when i went to art school in boston, if it's the one in the complex with the theater and best buy and all that. they might indeed have what you're looking for.

Try Paper Source. I know there is a store on mass ave in Porter Sq. I haven't been into that store yet but they all tend to have a huge selection. You can check their website too... www.paper-source.com
