Bus Schedule confusion regarding HonkFest/Octoberfest

We're trying to figure out taking the bus from around Davis Square to Arlington Center tomorrow. (getting there by 1pm). Usually the 77 would be our Sunday choice, but there's this parade tomorrow.

The MBTA website says the following confusing thing:
Route 77 will omit stops between Alewife Station and Ringe Ave. connections can be made at Alewife Station.

Any idea what the 77 will actually be doing tomorrow?

I don't know, but you could take the #350 bus instead.

The 77 bus will be caught in gridlock traffic. I remember getting stuck on it last year when I forgot about Honk Fest. If you are able to walk from Davis to Arlington Center that's what I recommend.

Then again, as long as you walk north beyond Rindge Ave you may be fine. For example, you could take the bike path from Davis out to Mass Ave and wait for the bus there, just past the bus depot.

The 77 doesn't normally go to Alewife... I'm really confused as to what that means.

Regardless, walk to Powderhouse and take the 80 to Arlington center.

At a guess, they meant Rt 16, not alewife.
(essentially, the 79 route).

On the other hand, it isn't particularly easy to get from Alewife to Rindge due to a no-left-turn, so who knows.

My guess (emphasis on guess, I have no special knowledge) is that they'll be running essentially the "79" route and encouraging people to take the train in from Alewife.

The 87 goes through Davis to Arlington Center (catch it on Elm near the Davis Sq shopping center parking lot). The 80 goes along Broadway through Powderhouse Sq and through Medford Hillside to Arlington Center (catch it across the street from Sound Bites).

87 doesn't go to Arlington on Sundays. (What Davis Sq shopping center?)

Oops, I meant Porter.

Now that it's over, I'm curious ... what actually happened?
