I was out to dinner with cthulhia tonight (using a groupon at Lobby in Boston), and I said to her that I was sort of surprised that it had been so long since there'd been anything offered in Somerville, let alone in the Davis Square area.

But today totally makes up for that! $20 for $40 at PJ Ryan's is up at BuyWithMe. It is good for food and drinks.

Sadly, we cannot all use them the next time the meetup is at PJ Ryan's. Maybe everyone can buy them and we can treat each other for the next 3 months.

$40 gets you quite a bit at PJs. I hear the new menu is good too (haven't tried it myself).

"good" is a bit of a stretch. i'd say "not terrible" is a more accurate description. the beet salad is great.

I disagree. They make the tastiest fish and chips I've found (and this includes many by-the-ocean seafood shacks). And, they have a pleasingly varied beer offering.

The one time I had fish & chips the fish was undercooked and kind of gross. I agree with you about the beer selection, they have BBC on tap, which is great!

groupon routinely has more than one "deal" for the day in a given area. You have to go to the site to find them. Alternately, since I currently have multiple email addresses that groupon spams, I'll often see multiple deals sent to the different addresses.

I'm aware of this; since the emails don't go out until the deal is up, I actually go to groupon (and to 14 other similar sites I monitor) directly - I'm not even subscribed to the mailing, since it was never showing up until hours after I had made my decision about the deal.
