kind of a random question, since there's still snow on the ground and all, but does anyone know where i could take an affordable, beginner tennis class in the davis area in the spring/summer? either group or individual. i don't even think i've seen any courts around...i used to play in high school and would like to get back into it for fun and exercise.

Hey, I'm actually looking for a beginner tennis partner... I work at Tufts and have access to the courts (indoor and outdoor) there. Interested? If so, let me know and maybe we can talk!

Hey, I'm a tennis player (intermediate or so) and I play in Winchester. It's about 5-6 miles away, so it's not right in Somerville, but it's still close. You do have to pay for court time and for lessons, but unlike many tennis clubs, there is no annual membership fee (saves a lot of money!) Not sure if you're male or female, but I usually do the ladies' round-robin clinic on Fridays from 1-2:30 a few times a month. I'm a student, so I can do those crazy hours, but I know that they have stuff on weekends and nights, too. The Winchester Indoor Lawn and Tennis Center's number is 781-729-4040. They were very friendly and helpful when I moved here and was trying to find a place to play! Good luck!
