Is anyone else in the area currently having a horrible time time Comcast Cable Internet? I remember that large outage we had a few weeks back and I've been experiencing the same and I want to be sure it's not my equipment before I call and complain and have the first thing their Customer Service people say is "well... is it your computer?"

I'm just getting fed up with spending money on a service that seems to fail at least 3 or 4 times a month.

If you can, switch to RCN. Their service was much more reliable and they had the decency to credit/pro-rate for outages.

RCN was down at my apt in Davis approx 15-20 times a month. RCN wouldn't credit us and refused to figure out what was wrong. We dropped them for Comcast and only saw that one outage.

Really? That's a switch! When I lived in Davis we were always laughing at people with AT&T. Since mrpet is a current resident, and a very smart one at that, I say go with his advice!

i live in davis now, and i've had RCN since september, and i've never had an outage at all.

Same here, RCN has been great. In Waltham I had comcast, and it was nothing but trouble!
