Source for Pallets?

I need a few pallets (no more than 4) for a gardening project. Anyone know a good local source to pick them up? (Preferable free, of course..) I need to schedule it a little since I'll have to rent a zip-van, but I can be fairly flexible.

Thanks!

There are almost always pallets stacked at the back end of the Pemberton Farms parking lot.

Many pallets, especially those used for outdoor shipping and receiving, are made of treated wood that would be Very Bad to have in contact with any ground you plan to grow plants in.

i didn't know you could just take used pallets - for some reason i thought stores reused them? or are they one-time things?

I work for an area solar power installation company. We got our panels and equipment shipped to us on panels and give them away on a regular basis. Sometimes I will deliver them in my truck. We get a pretty wide variety of sizes and styles.
