Residents of Ward 6, which includes Davis Square and southwest Ball Square, are invited to the Ward 6 ResiStat community meeting on Thursday, May 2, from 6:30pm to 8pm at the Somerville Community Baptist Church, 31 College Avenue. Refreshments will be served at a 6pm meet-and-greet.

ResiStat meetings give you the chance to hear from and share information with Mayor Joe Curtatone, Alderman Rebekah Gewirtz, other elected officials, City staff, and your neighbors. Each ResiStat meeting covers a variety of topics, from City-wide projects to neighborhood concerns. Some of Thursday evening's topics include:

• The Davis Square hotel proposals


• City budgeting


• Davis Square streetscape improvements


• Local public safety information

Bummer, I feel quite strongly about some of these things. But that's the SOS Film Festival night and the night before SOS starts. The timing of this means that probably none of the literally hundreds of Somerville artists participating in SOS can come. Bummer to do it just before such a big event.
