Pat Jehlen tomorrow: canvass then barbecue

[I think most people here know that Pat Jehlen, our extremely cool state Representative from Somerville, is running in a special election for state Senate. The vote is August 30th, and you need to register to vote by next Wednesday.]

A bunch of us are going canvassing for Pat Jehlen tomorrow, Saturday, and then having a barbecue. Dan, who works on the Jehlen campaign, is hosting it at his place in Medford not far from Powderhouse - anyone who comes canvassing will get directions. Wanna join us?

It should be fun, and a good way to meet people while helping out on the most important election in MA this year. The weather looks like it'll be great for canvassing - mostly sunny with a few clouds, highs around 80, a mild breeze.

We'll meet at the Jehlen office in Davis Square at noon for training, hit the streets sometime before 1, and probably be done and come back around 4pm. Then we go to Dan's for the barbecue, trade stories, eat, and relax.

The Pat Jehlen office is at 240 Elm Street B1 - that's in the social security building, a block from Davis, between the Dunkin Donuts and Hollywood Express Video & Anna's.

This might be really dumb ...
but do you need to register to vote period or specificly for this election?

If you are already registered to vote and still live in the same place you voted in last November, you don't have to register again. So, if you voted in the Presidential election and haven't moved, you don't have to re-register. Go to the same place you voted in November on August 30 between 8 am and 8 pm. If you have moved since then, it is easy to register at your new address.

We have voter registration forms at the Jehlen HQ so why not come down today (Saturday) and you can fill one out and canvass and come to the BBQ too. It will be fun.

We'll have burgers both meat and vegetarian, salads, desserts and great conversations.
