I thought the same, but then how unpleasant so much of it looked for pedestrians - the whole part from the beginning until after the McGrath Highway crossing - and as a pedestrian I'd MUCH rather just walk on sidewalks than that Habitrail.
But pedestrians have sidewalks; this mostly looks great for cyclists (to a non-cyclist's eye), but I wonder about the sharp turns on & off the bridge over the tracks just S of Washington St. (starting at about 1:50)? Especially with that apparently narrow path & probable oncoming bike traffic confining you to your own lane.
