Greetings!
I am Anderson "Othniel" Mar (don't be mislead by my androgynous first name-I most definitely am female!)

On Thursday nights, I am most often found at the Diesel Cafe. I am really liking the Davis Square area, and Somerville is #2 on my list of suburbs to seriously look at when I start condo-shopping next year (the other choices to round out that list are #1 Cambridge...probably not affordable) and #3 Arlington.

I'm a 25-year-old "corporate goth" that works as a Paralegal Studies Coordinator at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy). I have cats - lots of 'em (Turkish Angoras and Maine Coons)!

Nice to "meet" you...I am lucky enough to live near the Square now. By all rights, I shouldn't be able to afford it (rents are sky-high), but I got lucky 4 years ago and have stayed that way so far! I am about as far from goth as you can get, but I have nothing against 'em, actually like a few! :)

Heh. Me too. I'm right between Davis and Porter in a place I could never afford now, but almost 3 years ago...I could.
Some of my best friends are goths...but me?

Most rents in the Greater Boston area are outrageous. It's much cheaper to get a 0% down loan from East/West Mortgage, and buy a small condo...payments on it are around $1,000/mo. to own.

I tried that. I was turned down. I don't have enough savings. I wish I could do that...since my rent is very nearly that $1,000...

I'll have to look into that...I have perfect credit so it might work...not sure...I hope there's not an income level requirement, because I work in academia and we all know what that means!

They're great animals...very personable and unique. Unfortunately, I don't have Ming anymore. I miss having a Siamese around...never a dull moment...

Heh. Dull moment? I have two Siamese so I'm not sure I know what dull moments are like...at least not for the past 11 years anyway. Oops. It'll be 12 in April!

I've been to Someday Cafe once or twice. Do you know if they ever made good on their promise to have some acoustic acts and poetry readings there?

tuesday nights they usually have some sort of music act. sometimes drums, sometimes electronic. usually too loud to do anything but listen. it would be cool if they did some sort of poetry slam stuff, but i haven't heard of anything along those lines.
