Lead testing and abatement

Does anyone have any recommendations for lead testing and/or abatement companies they have worked with before? Looking for someone excellent.

If you want to save a couple bucks and have the transportation to make it happen, there is a lab in Woburn called ProScience where you can bring in your own samples for testing.

Does the city offer this for free or at a reduced rate if you currently have children?

If you meet income requirements.

We think we used the Lead Lab in Belmont. Memories are a little hazy as it was 9 years ago now, but ISTR that we were offered a range of choices at different levels of paranoia and different price points, and were able to make informed decisions about which ones worked for us. And the schedule didn't slip, which was important to us, since we were doing it during the brief overlap when we were still living in the old apartment but had taken possession of the new house (much easier to abate the lead before there's any furniture in place!).
