Videotaping A Play

I'm hoping to find someone local in possession of a video camera who might be willing to come down and tape a performance of a play taking place over the next two weekends in Davis.

We're just looking for something very basic, of the tape-for-Mom-out-of-state variety. We're having a DVD made but it won't be finished for a while, and some of us really want a tape before the holidays to bring home.

You definitely don't have to be a professional videographer. In fact, I guess you shouldn't be one, since we don't have it in our budget to pay a fee. But you could sell us copies and make a little money -- we have a cast of 25 as well as tech artists, and many will want one. You'll see the show for free, of course. And you'll be our new BFF, and all that.

The play is The Merry Wives of Windsor at Theatre@First in Davis. If you think you might be able to do this, please contact me at moonstonewater at yahoo dot com, or just reply here.

Many thanks! Come see the show everybody!

UPDATE 4:40 PM: We might have somebody, but take a look anyway if interested.

I have a DV cam that I'd be happy to put out on loan for this purpose to someone I could trust. Someone would just have to buy some tapes.

It's a digital video camera, so the recording is already digital and can be burned right to a CD or DVD as desired. Usually it's the editing part that takes time, though.

do you want the raw footage or an edited video?

It would have been nice if you'd approached me earlier, as this was on my checklist of questions (that were answered) over a month ago.
