a good local dentist

hello folks-

i need a new dentist in the area, hopefully one that i can get an appointment with in the next month or so.
i don't need anything special, just a good dentist who can actually see me (my old one seemed to lose my appointments regularly and sent me away!)

i'd greatly appreciate any suggestions you have, as i don't have much knowledge of the dentists here.

I'm sure I won't be the only one to suggest Dr. Casey Cook at Davis Square Dental. I was recommended via LJ and have fallen in love with him and his staff. Seriously, the best dentist ever. However, there typically is a bit of a wait for appointments, but if you call, they can mark down your name to call in case of a cancellation.

Agreed. I was also referred to him from this community and I've never been happier with a dental office. Not only does Dr. Cook rock, but his staff is great and his hygienist is gentle but thorough.

sounds ideal, plus they're right down the street from me. unfortunately their office is closed now- so i'll try again tomorrow :)

yup. just saw him today for the first time and i may be in love. but you can't get a checkup for a couple of months. if it's more urgent, he'll see you sooner (if you're lucky like me and need a root canal!)

i called them today around noon and was given an appointment TOMORROW at 10am.
never has making a dentist appointment been this easy!

Their mai drawback is that they're time consuming.

I've been with Dr. Michalowski at Harvard Vanguard (the building on Holland with the Au Bon Pain in it) for 15 years now. (I don't know anything about the other two dentists at that practice, though.)

No bull about the need to replace all of my current fillings, willing to be patient and see if small problems resolve themselves, never a pain when drilling fillings. I've never had a problem with my appointments being cancelled on me.

I see Dr Braggan there, and he is GREAT! i hadn't been to the dentist in ten years, and he and his staff were super sweet and didnt make me feel guilty or anything.
