Crazy Question:

What's the most interesting/fun/unique/creative Valentine's Day you've ever spent in Davis/Porter (our surrounding areas)? I'm trying to plan something cool for my husband (he's been stressed lately) and I'm hunting for strange ideas...

Thanks!

Go and see Casablanca at the Brattle theatre (http://www.brattlefilm.org). Its Romantic and a bit different.

Back in the day (before parenthood), we hosted a "Love LOVE!" movie marathon and dinner at our house for our couple friends. The first year, we screened 3 movies (that was a bit much); the 2nd year, we scaled down to 2 movies and had a John Cusack theme. Guests got to vote on the movies via Evite poll. Hubby and I made a valentine favors for each couple, and rather than our usual potluck parties, we planned and cooked the whole dinner and dessert... it was work, but so much fun!!!

Heading into the 3rd year, I was pregnant and knew I couldn't manage hosting around Valentines Day, so we had an "early Valentine" party: hosted a "Moonstruck" dinner & movie night in November, on night of full moon, with menu inspired by the movie. That was fun too!

Not Valentine's and not Davis, but adaptable to anywhere -- *if* your husband has the right personality for it.

I had a bunch of his friends dress up as ninjas or spies or something and kidnap a then-boyfriend, force him into the car at watergunpoint, and deposit him at the restaurant.
