hair salon + yoga

Greetings - I'm looking for Davis Square area recommendations for an inexpensive yet good...

- hair salon (I have short (female) hair so need more than a plain trim, but don't need a high-end job or fancy atmosphere: around $20-25 would be nice)
- place to take vinyasa/ashtanga yoga classes

While I'm at it I might as well ask:
- where in Boston might be a good place to look for a used, 88-key weighted keyboard?
- where is Disc Diggers in relation to the Davis Sq T?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I've actually been looking for a salon myself, so I've got no help to offer there, but for yoga, you might check out The Dance Complex (http://www.dancecomplex.org/index.html) in Cambridge. It's not quite Davis Square, but it's close. My roommate's taken dance classes there and highly recommends the center.

Disc Diggers (http://dir.digitalcity.com/main.adp?_dircid=106554465&_diradid=&_dircity=Boston&_dirstate=MA&_dirzip=&_dirlat=423615&_dirlong=%2d710539&_dirdma=2&_diraction=detail&brand=digitalcityyp&_dby=&_dircat=&_dirnamesearch=&_diraddress=&_dirpid=) is just down Highland Ave. from the T (exit to the left from the turnstiles).

where is Disc Diggers in relation to the Davis Sq T?

There are two exits to the T stop, so "in relation" doesn't work so well. The College Ave exit is closer.

Disc Diggers is on Highland, between Davis Square and Grove Street. Highland is the only big one way road inbound to Davis.

O2 Yoga. (as in, Oxygen)

I've never been, but I know a bunch of people who do go.

Hair - I go to Mario's in Davis, at 75 Holland. Phone is 617-666-8210. My favorite stylist is Alan, but I've had good luck with pretty much everyone there.

If you want to give it a test run, they have open houses (I believe quarterly). The site [http://www.o2yoga.com/] only lists the open house for the Portsmouth studio, which was this past Saturday, but you could give the Somerville studio a call at 617.625.0267 to see when they have something going on.

I second the recommendation for Mario's (been there) and O2 (know people who go there.)

New to the area?
