oh god.
is it stupid to be looking for a new apartment for the end of august/beginning of september...
in april?

Diesel/Someday/Denise's/Blue Shirt all have bulletin boards where people post apartment ads. Usually they are looking for roommates, which may not be what you're looking for, but usually they're also relatively cheap.
You can pick up the Tufts Daily from the Tufts campus (eg library, student center) -- it pretty much exclusively advertises apartments in this area and it has a *lot* of them right now, since it's close to the end of the school year.
You can always read the real estate listings in one of the newspapers; the Globe is how I've found my apartments so far.

yeah, i've utilized denise's before... i'll try the other places. 'specially tufts. it's just that right now a lot of the ads i've seen seem to be focused on summer sublet... these lazy people leaving things to the last minute ;)
