Any chance I could get my hands on a copy of The Punisher Meets Archie?

[identity profile] diego001.livejournal.com 2007-05-30 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh! So your recommendation would be to just show up and see if you've got it.

I are smart.

Oo, excitement! Free comics yay!

So much for my idea of seeing if you wanted a big pile of comics. I'm planning on thinning out the collection this summer and don't even know if a comic book store like Comicazi would be willing to come look it over and make an offer, or if it's just not worth the trouble and I should just give it all to someone.

Hah, I wasn't sure if you were on Davis Square and was just about to send you a pointer to this. But maybe you don't want any more comix. Oh well.

Noooooooooo way! I really need to do a purge of everything. When you get to the point where you buy stuff that you find out you already have ...

I have a friend who sold boxes and boxes of comics to Comicazi in Arlington Heights a couple years ago.

When I first did a big purge 15 years ago, I called a bunch of stores but only one was willing to come look. Their offer was pretty lowball since my collection had a few really nice pieces in it, but this was pre-eBay so it was good enough.

Most stores want you to bring them the books.

FYI, Tony at Million Year Picnic off Harvard Square will buy trade paperbacks. Your best bet is to give him a typed list of what you have and ask if he wants any of it, rather than showing up on his doorstep with a bunch of stuff. Only talk to Tony, though... the other dude has no clue.

Moving onto a different hobby?

Closing a store?

Moving?

Jilted lover getting revenge? :)

Can you give me a hint about what sort of indies? Are we talking Image? Fantagraphics? Dark Horse? Top Shelf?

[identity profile] dylanesque29.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still trying to wrap my head around. To me, it's like getting, free money, or something. This must be karma from all the comics I just put on Ebay to "reduce my collection". Heh.

Oh, maaaan...we just went and cleared and organized our bookshelves, too. Well, that was nice for the three minutes it lasted.

From my boyfriend: Damn you for destroying the lovely feng shui and enabling our addiction. I hope you're happy.

Excellent! Just what I need to not solve the problem of having too many comics and books in my house!
