noticings

also as i was walking through davis sqaure i noticed that there are no churches in the square. sure there are some on the very outer edges and down side streets. but none on the main drag, in the heart of the square.

in the town where i grew up there were at least four that i can think of main street all in the center of things. their high spires constantly signaled like, a morse code beacon, that i was different. i don't hate christians but i hate churches as edifices. i hate being in them and i hate their prescence. it made me happy that my adopted neighborhood doesn't have any.

Well, it's funny you should say that-actually, there are at least 3 on College Ave (the street leading away from the Store 24); in fact, I was struck by that very thing the other day! :) Churches don't have much of a connotation to me at all, since I was raised Jewish, other than the fact that they can be some mighty pretty buildings! I sympathise with your sentiment, though, and are glad you love the Square-so do I!
