I have a lease question! My lease expires on the last day of August and I've started looking for new roommates, but my landlady has also started looking for new tenants. I told her I want to renew my lease, and she's really pressuring me into showing the place, and has been really aggressive about showing the place (she has someone coming to look at it tomorrow). I'm leaving for Tennessee in 3 weeks, is there any type of law that prevents people from coming into my room while I am away? It makes me really uneasy to think about people coming in and out while I'm going to be away for so long. Also, is it not kosher for me to put a lock on my door while I'm away? My other roommates have locks on their doors.

Advice?

Good luck with all the other stuff, but are you saying your landlady is looking for new roommates for you or looking for new tenants? Cause I have heard of this happening before; but I can not understand for the life of me why homeowner would find new roommates for you. I mean in the end you have to live with them, so shouldn't you find them for yourself.
